Located in Southwest Detroit, The Empowerment Plan is working tirelessly to clothe the city’s homeless population. Made by women from local shelters, the group’s MPWR coat is a hybrid jacket/sleeping bag. These wind/water resistant pieces of clothing have become the livelihood for seven local families and are protecting many more from freezing temperatures.
