Ziggy Marley Wins 2017 Best Reggae Album at GRAMMY Awards

Los Angeles, CA, February 14, 2017 – Ziggy Marley receives 8th Grammy Awards for Best Reggae Album featuring his self-titled album during the 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards that took place at Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA.

Ziggy, the son of reggae legend Bob Marley, gave a special shoutout on Twitter after winning the award saying, “Give thanks to the @RecordingAcad for the honor, my family, and all the artists keeping #reggae alive and well.”

The night’s spectacle also featured an opening performance from Skip Marley, along with American singer and songwriter Katy Perry, performing a single from Perry’s new album titled “Chained To The Rhythm.” This was Skip’s first-ever performance on live TV and the first time the duo performed together.

The top nominees for Best Reggae Album included “Falling Into Place” by Rebelution, “Rose Petals -EP” by J Boog, “Live in Virginia” by SOJA, “Everlasting” by Raging Fyah, and “Reggae for Her” by Sly and Robbie, Devin DI Dakta, and JL.
